If it was so easy to ignore powerful media images, we'd all be walking around proudly flaunting muffin tops, or flat chests, or whatever. But how can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure..

True friends love you because you are you. They accept you regardless of how long your hair is or what color your lip gloss is. They accept you even if you aren't the best basketball player on the team. True friends believe in you even when you are having a hard time believing in yourself.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies,

Even if you forget everything else, I want you to always remember that you are a person of value.

We read to learn and to grow, to laugh, to be motivated, and to understand things we've never been exposed to. We read for strength to help us when we feel broken, discouraged or afraid. We read to find hope. We read because we're not just made up of skin and bones, and a deep need for chocolate, but we're also made up of words, words which describe our thoughts and what's hidden in our hearts.

the whole world seems depopulated.

Look at it logically. I mean, I'm nothing special. I'm not ugly, but I'm not gorgeous. I'm not poor, but I'm not rich, either. & I wouldn't ever go off and party with him, or get drunk & high on the weekends just for the hell of it. Nah, that's not me. I'd stay at home and watch chick flicks with my best friends. In other words, I'm not his typical sort of girl... I'm just me.

There's something a quote does that nothing & no one else can ever do; it can become a part of you, you may never meet, or even know who wrote your life down in their own words, but that person is your companion. Quotes help you get over pain, feel loved, make you smile or even laugh, on those tough days & to think you started thinking no one knew what you were going through.

You can't make any one person your world. The trick is to take what each can give you and build a world from it.

who cleans the school?" Surely this was a joke. I had
seen the cleaning woman several times, but how would

You know when I said I knew a little about love? That wasn't true. I know a lot about love.
